The Osahon Okunbo Art Collection is the private art collection of Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Osahon (“Osa”) Okunbo. Inheriting his passion for the arts from his late father, the distinguished Captain Hosa Okunbo, Mr. Okunbo’s journey as a collector began with a profound appreciation for classical African art and artefacts. His inherited works focused on priceless works from pre-colonial Nigeria, with a particular emphasis on the Kingdom of Benin—his ancestral homeland.

Rooted in his Bini heritage, Mr. Okunbo has expanded the collection beyond classical African art to encompass masterpieces of Nigerian modernism and significant works from global contemporary artists.
